Privacy policy

Legal basis

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the data protection provisions of the Swiss Confederation (Data Protection Act, DSG), every person is entitled to protection of their privacy and protection against misuse of their personal data. The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

In cooperation with our hosting providers, we make every effort to protect the databases as well as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or falsification.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing and use of data in accordance with the following description. This website can generally be visited without registration. Data such as pages accessed or names of files accessed, date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without this data being directly related to your person. If personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

In certain situations, special data protection provisions may apply instead of this Privacy Policy or in addition to this Privacy Policy, for example for form data.

Processing of personal data

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. A data subject is a person about whom personal data is processed. Processing includes any handling of personal data, regardless of the means and procedures used, in particular the storage, disclosure, procurement, erasure, retention, modification, destruction and use of personal data.

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law. If and insofar as the EU GDPR is applicable, we also process personal data on the following legal bases in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) GDPR:

  • lit. a) Processing of personal data with the consent of the data subject.
  • lit. b) Processing of personal data for the performance of a contract with the data subject and for the implementation of corresponding pre-contractual measures.
  • lit. c) Processing of personal data for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject under applicable EU law or under applicable law of a country in which the GDPR is applicable in whole or in part.
  • lit. d) Processing of personal data to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person.
  • lit. f) Processing of personal data for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the fundamental freedoms and rights and interests of the data subject. The legitimate interests include, in particular, our business interest in being able to provide our website, information security, the enforcement of our own legal claims and compliance with Swiss law.

We process personal data for the duration required for the respective purpose or purposes. In the case of longer-term retention obligations due to legal and other obligations to which we are subject, we restrict processing accordingly.

Server log files

The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

This data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.

Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

Newsletter

If you have expressly given us your consent, we will use your e-mail address to regularly send you our electronic newsletter or have it sent to you on our behalf. In order for you to receive the electronic newsletter, we only need your e-mail address and, if applicable, your first name and surname.

The registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registering, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no-one can register with other people's e-mail addresses.

Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and confirmation as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can also send an e-mail to info@rocket.ch if you no longer wish to receive newsletters.

Other purposes

We reserve the right to process your personal data for other purposes. However, we will inform you accordingly and, if necessary, obtain your consent.

Disclosure of data

When providing our services, we use external service providers who collect or process your personal data on our behalf. These come from the following categories:

  • IT service provider for data hosting services
  • Marketing service providers (e.g. media agencies, ad networks, publishers, data clean room providers, Google, social media platforms) in the area of marketing activities (e.g. competitions, marketing campaigns, analytics cookies)
  • Service provider for customer communication
  • Market research institutes
  • E-commerce (e.g. retailer platforms, own platforms and other third-party providers)

Insofar as service providers process personal data as processors, they are obliged to process personal data exclusively in accordance with our instructions and to take measures to ensure data security.

Data may also be disclosed to other recipients, e.g. to courts and authorities in the context of proceedings and statutory information and cooperation obligations, to buyers of companies and assets, to financing companies in the case of securitizations and to debt collection companies.

In individual cases, we may also pass on personal data to other third parties for their own purposes, e.g. if you have given us your consent to do so or if we are legally obliged or entitled to do so.

In addition, we only pass on your personal data within Rocket GmbH and/or to third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent,
  • it is necessary for the performance of a contractual relationship with you,
  • the processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation,
  • The processing is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests or those of a third party and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest to the contrary.

Transfer of personal data to third countries

Tools from companies based in the USA are integrated on our website. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the US servers of the respective companies. We would like to point out that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to disclose personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. secret services) may process, evaluate and permanently store your data on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing operations.

Use of cookies

This website uses cookies. These are small text files that make it possible to store specific information relating to the user on the user's terminal device while the user is using the website. Cookies make it possible in particular to determine the frequency of use and the number of users of the pages, to analyze patterns of page use, but also to make our offer more customer-friendly. Cookies remain stored beyond the end of a browser session and can be retrieved when you visit the site again. If you do not wish this to happen, you should set your Internet browser to refuse to accept cookies.

A general objection to the use of cookies for online marketing purposes can be declared for a large number of services, especially in the case of tracking, via the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/. In addition, the storage of cookies can be achieved by deactivating them in the browser settings. Please note that in this case not all functions of this online service can be used.

External services

We use various third-party services on our website. Below we explain in detail which services are involved, what we use them for and what data is collected.

Google services

This website may use Google Maps to embed maps, Google Invisible reCAPTCHA to protect against bots and spam and YouTube to embed videos.

These services of the American Google LLC use, among other things, cookies, whereby data is transferred to Google in the USA, whereby we assume that no personal tracking takes place in this context solely through the use of our website.

Google has undertaken to guarantee appropriate data protection in accordance with the US-European and US-Swiss Privacy Shield.

Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps. This enables us to display interactive maps directly on the website and allows you to conveniently use the map function. When you visit the website, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. This happens regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not wish to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide needs-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact Google to exercise this right.

For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by Google, as well as further information on your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy, please visit: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Google Recaptcha

This website uses the reCAPTCHA service from Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland "Google"). The query is used to distinguish whether the input is made by a human or by automated, machine processing. The query includes the transmission of the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. For this purpose, your input is transmitted to Google and used there. However, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of this service. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of reCaptcha will not be merged with other Google data. Your data may also be transferred to the USA. For data transfers to the USA, there is an adequacy decision by the European Commission, the "Privacy Shield". Google participates in the "Privacy Shield" and has submitted to the requirements. By activating the query, you consent to the processing of your data. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR with your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited are hereinafter referred to as "Google".

This website also uses Google Analytics for a cross-device analysis of visitor flows, which is carried out via a user ID. If you have a Google user account, you can deactivate the cross-device analysis of your use in the settings there under "My data", "Personal data".

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "_anonymizeIp();" to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses. This means that IP addresses are processed in abbreviated form so that they cannot be linked to a specific person. If the data collected about you can be assigned to a person, this is immediately ruled out and the personal data is deleted immediately.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
